- Encourage a few students to share their responses.
- **Story Time:**
- Read a short storybook that features both animals and plants. For instance, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.
**2. Main Activity (20 minutes)**
- **Show and Tell:**
- Present flashcards of common animals (e.g., cat, dog, bird, fish) and plants (e.g., sunflower, tree, grass, rose).
- Ask the students to repeat the names after you to ensure they can pronounce them correctly.
- **Interactive Discussion:**
- Discuss the basic needs of animals (food, water, shelter) and plants (water, sunlight, soil).
- Use real or plastic plants and toy animals to make the discussion more engaging.
- **Colouring Activity:**
- Hand out colouring sheets of animals and plants.
- Encourage students to colour while describing what they are colouring. "What colour will you make the cat? Do you think this plant needs water?"
